Living in the Light

“No one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

~ John 3:2 NKJV

There is something distinct about the people of God—something that sets us apart. We carry the authority of His presence. When we truly understand who we are in Christ, we begin to live and speak with conviction. Our words carry weight, and our actions reflect a deeper reality.

“. . . the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light…”

~ John 3:19

The Light of Christ exposes everything. It reveals not just what is seen on the surface, but also what is hidden within. When we look at a newborn baby, we see a physical body, but the soul—the true person—takes shape in ways unseen. In the same way, Christ’s light uncovers the heart, shaping us through truth and grace.

When we walk in truth, we welcome that light. But if we are more concerned with pleasing ourselves than pleasing God, we may retreat into darkness, afraid of what the light will reveal. That fear can keep us from real transformation. The Light of Christ confronts superficial religion. It challenges our assumptions and pierces our pride. Yet, for those who are searching, it also draws us in.

Even the most educated among us must come to Christ as learners. We lay down our credentials and open our hearts to His truth. God’s kingdom doesn’t begin with outward conformity—it begins in the heart. It’s personal, powerful, and deeply transformative.

Some resist that transformation. They’re afraid of change, afraid of exposure, afraid of surrender. And often, those same individuals may feel threatened by the light we carry. Our desire to walk in truth may expose the darkness in their own lives, even without us saying a word.

Still, we pray. We love. We shine. And we hope that one day, they too will see how much better it is to live in the light than to hide in the shadows.
