Let This Mind Be in You

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Jesus made Himself of no reputation. He humbled Himself and became obedient, even to the point of death on a cross. Therefore, God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name above every name.” – Philippians 2:5-11

Jesus emptied Himself of His rights. He chose to become a servant. His mindset must become our motivation. He became vulnerable, laying aside His privileges for the sake of others. Because of His obedience, God lifted Him up and gave Him supreme authority and honor.

Jesus carried the name and reputation of His Father within Him. In the same way, we need to think of ourselves as Christ thought of Himself. We should not think too highly of ourselves or cling tightly to the advantages of our status. Instead, we are called to set aside our privileges, live selfless and obedient lives, and pour ourselves out in sacrifice and service out of love for God and for others.

When we walk in this obedience, God will lift us up in His perfect way and time.

Thoughtful Reflection

Our calling is to empty ourselves in humility and love, trusting Him to fill us and honor us according to His purpose.
