Just Do It

Our credibility precedes our plans. People buy into who we are before they buy into what we do. Once they trust our identity, they are ready to embrace our vision. When they believe in us, they follow where we lead.

At the wedding in Cana, the joy of the celebration was about to run out. In the same way, the joy of this world fades. Religion fails us. But true spiritual life in Christ fills our empty vessels with overflowing joy. God is still at work in His creation, still revealing His glory and goodness. He is still changing the water of our lives into wine – and not just any wine, but the very finest.

When we face situations we do not understand, we must trust that Jesus will work in the best way. Often, we bring our problems to Him thinking we know how He should resolve them. But He may have an entirely different plan. Our part is to submit to His way, allowing Him to deal with each challenge as He sees fit.

We search everywhere but God for excitement, meaning, and fulfillment. We wrongly expect God to be dull and lifeless. Yet life in Christ is far better than any life we could create for ourselves. Why wait until everything else has run out before turning to Him? Why save the best until last, when the best is available to us right now?
